EMAS Easter Study Tour to Hadrian's Wall and the Borders
17 to 23 April 2014
The 2014 EMAS Easter Study Tour is to the area of Hadrian's Wall and the Scottish Borders.
We will be based in a hotel in Carlisle - an excellent point from which to explore the region.
In addition to visiting the most important sites on Hadrian's Wall and the Antonine wall, we will also visit important prehistoric and medieval sites in the area, including the impressive Iron Age promontory fort a at Barsalloch, Bishop Wilfrid's seventh century crypt at Hexham, the superbly sculpted Anglo-Saxon crosses at Bewcastle and Ruthwell, and the spectacular moated triangular castle at Caerlaverock.
The cost of this study tour will be £437 per person for those sharing a twin room and £497 per person for a single room. The cost includes bed and breakfast in the hotel, return transport from London, transport to and entry to the monuments.
